Kindo Checkout Gifting supporting KidsCan

Kids supported by Kindo checkout gifting

At Kindo, our mission is to help our tamariki thrive and engage in their education. One way we have done this is by introducing ‘Checkout Gifting’ for KidsCan as a trial in several schools back in May 2022. The trial was extremely popular, bringing in $7610 for KidsCan the first month. The proof was in the results, and we knew we had to roll this out to our whole Kindo community!

KidsCan need our help now more than ever

KidsCan need our help now more than ever as the volume of tamariki needing help has grown significantly since we started our fundraising partnership. With a range of KidsCan gifting options at checkout, parents can choose to pay it forward as they purchase items for their own child. Some examples are gifting a hot lunch from just $2 a week, a week of breakfasts for $20 or providing shoes & socks for as little as $25.

Here at Kindo we have enjoyed seeing families pay it forward to a child in need. No amount is too small and ordering a hot lunch in winter for just $2 can be life changing to a child. Helping them to feel supported and increasing their ability to learn on a full tummy. All with the simple click of a button!

Better yet, the Kindo platform quickly provides donation receipts so families can claim back the 33% tax rebate on donations over $20. Easy for caregivers at home and no extra workload for the school admin or finance team. It’s a no-brainer!

We had the opportunity to catch up with the KidsCan team last week to share that the checkout gifting option on the Kindo platform has raised a whopping $23,358 for KidsCan for the first two terms this year!

We're so grateful to have Kindo as a fundraising partner - what a generous response you have had from your community. It comes as KidsCan faces record demand, with an increasing number of families struggling to afford the basics. No parent wants their child going to school hungry and cold, and regular donations from Kindo customers means we can wrap families in support, keeping children fed and warm, so they can focus on learning, playing, and just being kids. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated. - Julie Chapman, KidsCan founder and CEO

Since we started on this journey, Kindo families have gifted over $61,138 in just over a year. We are feeling grateful to be a fundraising partner with KidsCan who make such a difference in our community.

As a result of the KidsCan success, we have now introduced a feature for schools to add a ‘Checkout Gifting’ option for tamariki within their own school. We are excited to see where the rest of the year will go… and will be sharing more about this with you very soon!
